To encourage reading habits and to widen the knowledge of the Students has a well equipped and stocked library with books, journals and magazines from all over the world which cover a wide spectrum of topics ranging from science and technology, Arabic, Islamic literature, etc.. To fully automate the library the latest technology is utilized.

For the overall development of students, an entire section is devoted to multimedia rich educational and inspirational materials on CD-ROMs and videos.

Purpose

The purpose of the manual is to provide a guide for the operation of the Indian Excellent School Library. The manual will be updated as changes are made in the school authority.

 Mission

The mission of the School Library Program is to ensure that students are effective     users of ideas and information. The library strives to provide the school community with a wide range of materials on appropriate levels of difficulty that will encourage growth in knowledge, establish a life-long love of reading, and foster information literacy.

Objectives

The goals of the librarian:

  1. To teach students to access, evaluate, and use information.
  2. To maintain a well-balanced collection of documents appropriate to the needs of the school.
  3. To provide assistance in locating and using instructional materials.
  4. To promote instruction in information literacy to students and faculty.
  5. To provide instructional materials that will stimulate growth in factual knowledge and literary appreciation.

 

Automation

The automation procedures are run by the school IT Section and also follow an Excel file for library documents.

Library Hours of Operation

The Indian Excellent School Library is open from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. every school day. Students must come with a purpose for learning. Faculty members are welcome to browse and pick up materials while in the library hours.
